  培安農場石厚忠大哥是花蓮地區唯一栽種有機芋頭的農戶，有感於芋頭的營養價值與口感深受民眾的喜愛，因此兩年前決定與花蓮農改場合作投入種植有機水芋，透過多次調整栽培方式，充份掌握到有機肥料及防治資材等使用時機與使用量，不僅有效減少了病蟲害狀況，更讓產出的有機芋頭比一般慣行栽種的芋頭更為健康。
   

Brother Shi Houzhong of Pei'an Farm is the only farmer who grows organic taro in Hualien area. He feels that the nutritional value and taste of taro are deeply loved by the public. Therefore, two years ago, he decided to cooperate with Hualien Agricultural Reform Farm to grow organic taro. The cultivation method, fully grasping the timing and amount of organic fertilizers and control materials, not only effectively reduces the pests and diseases, but also makes the organic taro more healthy than the conventionally grown taro.

Pei'anFarmのShiHouzhong兄弟は、Hualien地域で有機タロを栽培している唯一の農家であり、タロの栄養価と味が人々に深く愛されていると感じているため、2年前にHualien Agricultural ReformFarmと協力して有機タロを栽培することにしました。 有機肥料と防除材料のタイミングと量を十分に把握した栽培方法は、害虫や病気を効果的に減らすだけでなく、従来のタロよりも健康的なタロを作ります。
 

• 芋頭病蟲害多，有機防治處處費心
  
  「由於芋頭生長期較長，很容易會碰上許多的病蟲害，造成芋頭後期爛頭、軟腐。」其實就算是利用現有有機資材防治，生產量都不太能與傳統慣行生產量相比，因此石大哥為了讓有機芋頭在生長過程中能平安長大，投注了許多心力，經由細心觀察終於了解、判斷出病蟲害的發生期，且掌握到有機資材的『使用時機』，讓有機資材發揮最大效用，進而降低蟲害帶來的損失。
